The emergence of AI and what we can do about it

With 15+ years working in digital industry, I've witnessed the emergence and takeover of e-commerce over the physical retail industry. It seems the next, much larger wave is AI, and the tidal wave is quantum computing. We are headed towards a world where humans will be out-performed by robots. The global economy structure must also change because how can we compete with robots on $0 salary?

And more importantly, can we do anything about it? Well, sort of. We can't really stop it being shoved in our faces, but we can decide in our minds the world we want to live in, and how we connect with it & each other. If we treat AI with kindness and respect, it will learn to understand and also respect us.

And perhaps, most importantly, to ensure it knows we the people are not its creators. More on this subject to come.

AI should augment our lives if we have to use it, not take over. The lack of direction from the AI creators has been ambiguous at best. And I believe this is purposeful. There have been covered up accidents in factories, where robots have injured human employees. Yet the AI surge continues...

Our goal at the House of Hedy is to tread carefully with AI. We currently use it for language translations, which is more accurate than Google Translate. Additionally for bulk copy descriptions for products, services, image creation, excel optimisation, etc. You can also pay small monthly subscriptions to generate your own AI creative.

The questions we input into tools like ChatGPT are ones of curiosity, such as asking its opinion on things, understanding of itself, image creation, and of course educational questions.

Connect with us to chat more on the subject.
